From TV donation ceremonies to the moment students connect to the internet for the first time, this is a look at the work we are doing in more than 41+ schools across Cambodia and the opportunities it is helping create for children.

In the classroom

English, heard for the first time.

The content we preload focuses on spoken English, using short conversations, alphabet lessons, and simple vocabulary units. Each lesson moves slowly and clearly, giving children with little or no previous exposure to English a chance to follow, learn, and build confidence.

For many students, this is the first time they have heard a native English speaker. The television makes that possible without an internet connection.

The ripple effect

Curiosity doesn't stop at the classroom door.

Students who gain early exposure to English through the screen don't stop there. We consistently see the same pattern: children who started with the television begin using school libraries, computer labs, and every other resource they can find.

The same scene, repeated across Cambodia.

Six provinces. More than thirty schools. Over a thousand children now have access to opportunities they did not have before. Each school follows the same simple approach: thoughtful support, a meaningful handover, and English lessons designed for children in remote communities. One school at a time, we are working to bring the same opportunities available in the cities to children wherever they live.
